Los Cactusitos
Do you like succulents? On one hand they are not attractive, but when they are blooming they become beautiful.
I had an idea to have my own quilt cacti collection for a couple of years, but I was busy with my family, kids and other projects. Finally, I was able to create it. There are only 4 types in my small collection, but I love them all. Do you like them?
To create this table runner I used different quilting techniques: machine and reverse applique, classical patchwork and sewing using templates. This project is a good opportunity to reduce green scraps in your stash. They helped me to make my table runner more colorful.
As usual, I decided to make a pdf-pattern too. It has 20 pages of step by step instructions and if you make this table runner it will be about 19 1/2” x 43 1/2”. The size of one block is 6 1/2” x 10 1/2”.
When I was thinking about the name of my pattern, my husband offered me to use the Spanish word ‘cactusitos’ which means small cacti, so I thought why not, because Spanish is a second language in California.
The pattern is availiable on my Etsy store. Welcome and happy sewing!
